Accountant at Quatá responsible for managing tax documentation and financial reporting processes. Collaborating with internal teams to ensure compliance with fiscal regulations.
Responsibilities
Contribute to posting accounting entries for invoices of consumable materials and service providers by analyzing and verifying various taxes (PIS, COFINS, CSLL, IR, ISS and INSS) in internal controls for cost centers, internal orders by department and accounting records in the management system.
Support the company’s proper accounting close by generating general ledger reports and performing account reconciliations through the ERP system.
Issue invoices and ISS (service tax) guides, observing the nature of the operation and legal requirements, and file invoices and documents to support company operations and maintain document control.
Perform the closing of direct and indirect tax calculations by reviewing fiscal documents and submitting ancillary obligations.
Initiate and monitor processes with tax authorities related to the cancellation of improperly assessed taxes.
Record tax ledgers for tax calculations, goods entries and exits, fixed assets, and inventory records using the computerized system to comply with tax legislation.
Provide information to support management decision-making by preparing management reports and analyzing and consolidating accounting reconciliation data.
Assist internal and external audits by providing requested information and documents and clarifying queries to facilitate auditors’ work.
Monitor the company’s tax status by periodically obtaining municipal, state and federal negative certificates to maintain tax compliance.
Respond to inspections by competent authorities by providing required information to preserve legal and tax compliance, ensuring submission of requested documentation and clarifications to tax authorities.
Keep up to date with changes in tax legislation through subscriptions to specialized publications and internet research, ensuring tax controls and records remain compliant.
Review legal changes to verify whether they are implemented in the company’s tax management system and take appropriate action if they are not.
Support management regarding the company’s tax transactions, demonstrating impacts on operations and identifying opportunities to optimize costs and assess risks.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Law or a related field.
Experience with tax department routines and fiscal processes.
Tax calculation and reconciliation knowledge (ICMS / ICMS ST / DIFAL / PIS / COFINS).
Preparation and submission of ancillary tax obligations.
Review and analysis of tax bookkeeping and records.
Experience with ERP Protheus – Modules: Managerial Accounting and Tax Books; Financial and Purchasing modules.
Proficient with Microsoft Office.
Knowledge of state and federal tax legislation.
