About the role

  • Site Manager overseeing power cable installation activities for Prysmian in Germany. Responsible for supervision, planning, logistics, and compliance on construction sites.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the main point of contact with the Customer and third parties for supervising pre-lay activities related to the power cable system.
  • Serve as the interface between the Customer, civil works contractors, and cable-laying subcontractors for activity planning, verification of civil works execution, and inspection of infrastructures.
  • Supervise cable-laying operations performed by subcontractors.
  • Maintain a site diary of activities, managing subcontractors’ execution in accordance with the submitted plan and contract requirements.
  • Supervise backfilling operations carried out by third-party companies in terms of timing, quality, and cable protection.
  • Oversee site activities, managing resources (personnel and assets), technical aspects, logistics, and HSE on site.
  • Enforce site safety rules to minimize work-related accidents and injuries.
  • Ensure compliance with internal rules and procedures throughout the process.
  • Support the preparation of method statements and other documentation required to carry out the works on site, in cooperation with and under the supervision of Installation Engineering.

Requirements

  • Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Transportation Engineering, or an equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience, preferably in project logistics and heavy/special transports.
  • Proficient German and English skills at C1 level or higher.
  • Strong MS Office skills, preferably advanced knowledge of MS Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Adaptable and proactive approach with an understanding of project-related KPIs, e.g., logistics budget and delivery reliability.
  • Project- and customer-oriented mindset with a focus on aligning project objectives with customer needs and expectations.
  • Initial experience in site logistics is an advantage but not required.
  • Proactive communicator with effective problem-solving skills.
  • Team player, resilient under pressure, with strong conflict-resolution abilities.
  • Proven negotiation skills, persistence, and assertiveness.
