About the role
- Lawyer for global compliance office in Coatings division ensuring compliance strategy and governance. Collaborating with compliance officers and advising on legal compliance matters across various areas.
Responsibilities
- Support the development, implementation and execution of the global compliance strategy for the Coatings division
- Contribute to the development and enforcement of policies and processes that strengthen compliance
- Support governance matters for the Coatings division, including governance-related platforms and a variety of governance initiatives and projects
- Collaborate with the global network of compliance officers of the Coatings division’s legal entities
- Provide compliance advice across different areas of expertise (e.g., sanctions, anti-corruption, criminal law and data protection)
- Support coordination of the global compliance training and awareness program within the Coatings division
Requirements
- Law degree (German First and Second State Examinations)
- Minimum 3–5 years of professional experience
- At least 1–3 years of experience in compliance roles within an international company
- Solid proficiency in compliance matters is required
- Additional qualifications or regulatory experience, especially in data privacy law, are an advantage
- Proactive team player with strong communication skills in German and English
- Additional languages are a plus
- Committed to value-based compliance advisory and enforcement
- Strong analytical, negotiation and collaboration skills
