About the role

  • Area Sales Manager managing sales and execution of regional business plans at BASF. Overseeing sales forecasting and collaboration with Country Sales Managers in the vegetable seeds industry.

Responsibilities

  • Implementing the Regional Business Plan
  • Managing resource allocation and coaching the regional sales team
  • Overseeing sales planning and execution
  • Introducing new crop hybrids and varieties
  • Managing short-term crop forecasts
  • Collaborating with the Country Sales Managers
  • Monitoring promotional activities and budgets
  • Managing accounts receivable and preparing reports for stakeholders
  • Liaising with agricultural authorities for licensing
  • Representing the company in regulatory and legal matters
  • Designing sales and market-development plans with sales representatives
  • Coordinating with the Regional Crop Leader and Customer Marketing

Requirements

  • Have a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)
  • Possess 8+ years of experience in sales
  • Have significant experience in the vegetable seeds industry. (5+ years preferred)
  • Have considerable people management experience. (5+ years preferred)
  • Possess strong management and communication skills, with competence in business and marketing
  • Are able to speak and write in English
  • Are willing to travel domestically and internationally at least 25-35%.
