About the role

  • Employee Benefits Account Executive responsible for implementation and service of large group employee benefits. Managing client relationships and ensuring superior customer service at Safegard Insurance.

Responsibilities

  • Review & Design full suite of Employee Benefits products including fully insured and self-insured medical plans, worksite products, group life, short-term disability, long-term disability, dental and vision coverage.
  • Communicate and assist customers with understanding of and taking action on laws affecting Employee Benefits and Human Resources including: FMLA, ACA, and ERISA.
  • Complete, review and/or approve all standard new business processes and policies.
  • Client facing with open enrollment
  • Request new business policy corrections and help clients resolve claims/billing issues.
  • Guide new clients through the implementation process, hand off to account manager once completed.
  • Maintain accurate records within agency management system and electronic files.
  • Build relationships with carrier representatives, general agents, and agency producers.
  • Delegate tasks to the appropriate individual and oversee the accuracy of their work.
  • Identify areas for process improvement within the Employee Benefits department.
  • Serve as mentor and trainer for new to workforce staff in Employee Benefits department.
  • Prepare, participate, maintain, and facilitate client facing presentations and meetings.
  • Ability to work with senior level management and have a top-level executive presence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Licensed Life & Health Producer - preferred
  • Professional Designation a plus but not required
  • 5+ years' in Employee Benefits Brokerage
  • Experience with Self-Insured Benefits Programs preferred
  • Knowledge of Vertafore BenefitPoint a plus but not required
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written)
  • Proficient with use of Microsoft Office Suite and products
  • Strategic thinker and independent worker
  • Comparative and technical knowledge
  • Self-starter and self-motivated
  • Relationship builder
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
