About the role

  • Principal Program Manager for Enterprise GIS managing modernization programs at PG&E. Driving large-scale projects and fostering innovation across business units and external partners.

Responsibilities

  • Own program delivery for Enterprise GIS modernization efforts.
  • Define and enforce governance standards, quality rules, and publishing processes across GIS datasets.
  • Act as liaison between functional areas, vendors, and stakeholder teams.
  • Manage risk, compliance, and change control processes for in-year program adjustments.
  • Organize engagement activities such as workshops, roadshows, and governance forums.
  • Review vendor deliverables, contracts, and ensure compliance with enterprise standards.
  • Oversee remediation work for foundational datasets and support transformational efforts.
  • Identifies new partners, technologies, and delivery channels.
  • Develops and manages department expense budget.
  • Regularly monitors expenses against forecast, providing explanation or justification for budget items and/or variances.
  • Communicate program status, risks, and benefits to stakeholders.
  • Mentors and provides guidance to less experienced colleagues.
  • Presents findings and makes recommendations to management.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience
  • Job-related experience, 10 years
  • Masters Degree in job-related discipline or equivalent experience (desired)
  • PMI-Project Management Institute PMP-Project Management Professional certification (desired)
  • Experience with GIS-Geographic Information System, ArcSDE (desired)
