About the role

  • Area Sales Manager driving motorcycle and accessories sales within the Secondary Market Territories for an iconic British motorcycle brand. Focus on dealer engagement and performance enhancement in a hybrid work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary point of contact for a new, growing group of Distribution (Secondary) Markets dealerships.
  • Monitor and analyse dealer sales performance (new and used motorcycles, accessories, finance, etc.) and work collaboratively to improve results.
  • Provide clear action plans and support for underperforming dealers.
  • Lead quarterly business reviews with dealers and support strategic planning.
  • Deliver area sales targets in line with national objectives.
  • Track pipeline health and demand forecasting across dealers.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of sales, stock levels, and order intake.
  • Work with internal teams (marketing, product, operations) to optimise territory performance.
  • Support the implementation of sales campaigns and product launches at a local level.
  • Identify opportunities to improve retail coverage, brand visibility, and customer satisfaction.
  • Contribute to dealer appointment, onboarding, or network change decisions in your region.
  • Ensure dealer adherence to corporate identity, retail standards, and customer experience guidelines.
  • Promote best practices across your area to drive consistency and customer loyalty.
  • Champion the voice of the dealer and the customer within the wider business.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a field-based sales role, ideally within the automotive or motorcycle industry.
  • Knowledge of motorcycle products, retail operations, and dealership business models.
  • Experience in sales reporting tools and CRM systems.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to analyse performance data and drive improvements.
  • Critical Requirement - Proven experience in a field-based sales role, ideally within the automotive or motorcycle industry.
  • Confident communicator with excellent influencing, coaching, and negotiation skills.
  • Self-motivated and organised with a results-driven mindset.
  • Willingness to travel frequently within the assigned territory.
