About the role

  • Project manager for embedded systems & functional safety at NewTec. Leading development teams and managing projects in a hybrid work environment in Germany.

Responsibilities

  • You are responsible for the technical and disciplinary leadership of medium to large development teams (3–30 people) in an interdisciplinary project environment.
  • You perform holistic project management with dedicated responsibility for budget, schedule, scope, and quality of deliverables.
  • You act as the central communication and solution interface between customers, development teams, sales, and external subcontractors.
  • In close coordination with the specialist departments, you prepare sound, project-specific cost estimates and detailed project plans.
  • You use established project management methods such as Waterfall, Agile, SCRUM, etc., and continuously refine them to improve goal attainment.

Requirements

  • You hold a degree in engineering, computer science, business administration, or a comparable technical discipline.
  • You have several years of experience successfully leading and executing service projects in the field of embedded electronics or electronics integration.
  • Ideally from a technical background such as industry or the German Armed Forces (Bundeswehr).
  • Support through the Vocational Advancement Service (Berufsförderungsdienst, BFD) is possible.
  • An initial project management certification (e.g., IPMA Level D or PMI) is desirable.
  • You have already gained experience and built advanced knowledge in one of the following safety standards, e.g., IEC 61508, ISO 26262, ISO 13849, or MIL‑STD‑882E.
  • Your technical expertise is complemented by strong leadership and communication skills and the ability to motivate interdisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent organizational skills, a high degree of personal responsibility, and strong determination are among your attributes.
  • You are fluent in German and English, both written and spoken.
