About the role

  • Provide administrative support for clinical functions and billing at Bradford County Health Department. Interview clients for economic eligibility and manage patient records and appointments.

Responsibilities

  • Provides administrative support for clinical functions and assists with billing functions at the Bradford County Health Department
  • Interviews clients to determine economic eligibility for enrollment in the county health department primary care program, family planning and other health department programs
  • Processes enrollment of clients as specified by the county health department procedures
  • Uses the FMMIS system to verify Medicaid benefit status and other electronic verification systems
  • Answers the telephone and makes appointments for patients for all clinic services
  • Prepares charts for clinics including compiling charts, requesting medical records, scanning and entering services for all records after services have been completed
  • Ensures medical records are current with all information and assists with purging of files of inactive clients
  • Determines financial responsibilities of clients based upon services received and payment status of client; collects fees for services rendered and provides receipts to clients
  • Processes credit card payments and required daily reports

Requirements

  • Strong customer service skills
  • Willingness to work before, during, and/or beyond normal work hours or days in the event of an emergency
  • Experience with multi-line phone systems (preferred)
  • Knowledge and expertise with medical front desk duties such as registering patients, confirming insurance coverage, making and confirming appointments, collecting and scanning patient documents (preferred)
