About the role

  • Quality Improvement Coordinator managing and evaluating QI projects at Florida Department of Health in Duval County. Focused on community health improvement and project documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Join Team Duval at DOH-Duval, working to protect, promote, and improve community health.
  • Serve as the agency's Quality Improvement (QI) Coordinator managing QI initiatives.
  • Coordinate, support, and evaluate departmental QI projects from planning through completion.
  • Apply POCA/PDSA methodology and monitor performance metrics.
  • Document QI activities and prepare reports for leadership and community partners.
  • Facilitate discussions and collaborative sessions across multiple locations.
  • Assist with workforce development and training related to QI activities.

Requirements

  • At least two years of experience independently leading or co-leading quality improvement projects beyond coursework or certification requirements.
  • At least two years of experience facilitating structured discussions in a professional environment, such as guiding multidisciplinary roundtables, presenting data or findings to stakeholders, or coordinating collaborative team sessions.
  • At least two years of professional experience writing reports containing technical information (e.g. community health assessment, progress reports, QI project storyboards, abstracts, etc.).
  • Certification in areas such as Project Management Professional; Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality; and/or Lean Six Sigma (i.e. Black belt).
  • A bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, quality assurance, business administration or a related field from an accredited college or university – or - at least four years of related work experience as described.
