  • Agricultural Technician II with Florida Department of Agriculture performing pest management and survey duties. Engaging in field diagnostics and regulatory activities for plant protection.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the protection and regulation of native and cultivated flora within Florida.
  • Place and service fruit fly detection devices as per the manual.
  • Conduct plant pest detection surveys in various environments.
  • Submit accurate reports and maintain records as required by program standards.
  • Assist with inspections of plant material and high-risk commodities.
  • Participate in exotic pest surveys and respond to emergency programs as necessary.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or its equivalent.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license.
  • Frequent travel may be required, including overnight travel for emergency programs.
  • Must provide honest and authentic responses during the evaluation process.
  • Must pass a background screening as a condition of employment.
