About the role
- Business Flood Analyst I responsible for assessing flood risks for Commercial Lending operations. Monitoring regulatory compliance and supporting process improvements within M&T Bank's lending practices.
Responsibilities
- Monitor business unit performance and adherence to Regulatory requirements with respect to loan closings and portfolio maintenance.
- Review approved credit requests for products from different businesses, including Commercial, Business Banking and Private Banking, to determine if regulatory requirements are applicable.
- Assist with the implementation of process improvements to support the timely and efficient review of pending loans in the pipeline.
- Assist in documenting key business unit processes.
- Identify and assess efficiencies, risks, and internal controls associated with these key processes.
- Assist in planning, executing and reporting related to credit facilities reviewed and approved for flood insurance purposes.
- Assist with researching and assessing flood insurance related regulatory requirements impacting Commercial, Business Banking and Private Banking.
- Escalate any regulatory changes with the Flood team to compile and communicate change to the business.
- Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite.
- Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.
- Promote an environment that supports belonging and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
- Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
- Complete other related duties as assigned.
