About the role
- Operations Manager overseeing wet chemistry areas in precious metal recycling at Heraeus. Responsible for team management, compliance with guidelines, and operational excellence in Hanau, Germany.
Responsibilities
- Manage the wet chemistry areas of precious metal recycling in Hanau
- Hold full responsibility for personnel and team development
- Ensure compliance with local, international and Heraeus internal guidelines and laws
- Inform EHS about planned changes and new investments, and report deviations from normal operations
- Operate the areas to achieve the highest standards of efficiency and ensure operational excellence
- Collaborate closely with planning, sales and production cost centers
- Own internal personnel and capacity planning
- Participate in strategic planning and decision-making for facilities and investments
- Coordinate projects and processes in wet chemical areas
- Ensure transfer of knowledge between recycling sites worldwide
Requirements
- University degree in a chemical or technical discipline, ideally with a doctorate (PhD)
- Extensive experience in disciplinary or technical personnel management
- Experience as a group or project manager in the chemical industry
- Experience in precious metal recycling, with a focus on wet chemical processing of spent catalysts, alloys and precious-metal-containing waste
- Very good written and spoken German and English
- Proficient in MS Office applications and SAP
- Enjoy working in a production environment; independent, goal-oriented and structured working style; high motivation and flexibility
