Activate Mila Ventures’ brand by creating platform-tailored content and amplifying community voices. Plan and execute meaningful events while managing live coverage and post-event content to sustain momentum.
Responsibilities
**Your role**
Reporting to the Ecosystem & Community Lead, the Activator is the pulse of the Mila Ventures community. Your role is not simply to “post” or “organize”; you are here to activate.
This is a hybrid role for a strategic brand builder who is also an operational doer. You will translate Mila Ventures’ strategy into lived, shareable experiences both online and in person. You will operate at the intersection of content and community, ensuring Mila’s “magnetic effect” is felt by researchers, students, founders and investors within our orbit.
**Amplifying Mila Ventures’ brand reach**
Strategic content activation: Translate complex venture-capital and deep-tech narratives into engaging, human-centered content tailored to each platform and resonant with the deeptech community.
Social media mastery: Maintain Mila Ventures’ daily presence across platforms (LinkedIn, X, YouTube, etc.), moving beyond corporate communications to drive traction and authentic conversation.
Community engagement: Identify and actively amplify the voices of our scientists, founders, mentors and partners to build lasting brand awareness.
Narrative capture: Be on the ground to lead storytelling and coordinate external creative partners (photographers, videographers, editors) to capture the ecosystem’s creative collisions — turning live moments into high-impact recaps, carousels and stories.
**Orchestrating the Mila Ventures experience**
High-quality event execution: Support the Ecosystem & Community Lead in delivering thoughtful, meaningful events — from intimate private dinners to flagship Demo Days — ensuring the brand experience is evident in every detail.
Operational excellence: Manage complex timelines, event logistics and vendor relationships with accuracy and speed, even under tight deadlines.
Brand experience activation: Ensure every touchpoint — from event marketing materials to presentations — reflects Mila Ventures’ excellence and innovation.
Live event coverage: Activate social channels in real time during events so the energy in the room resonates well beyond its walls.
Post-event momentum: Turn one-off events into lasting brand assets through recap content, thank-you campaigns and community engagement strategies.
Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business or a related field. Specialized studies or certifications in innovation, technology management or a related technical discipline are a strong asset.
Experience: 5+ years of proven experience in brand activation or community management within technology, startup or innovation ecosystems. We are looking for a brand-focused profile with complementary event skills.
Domain expertise: Demonstrated ability to translate technical or scientific concepts into compelling brand narratives.
Social media proficiency: Deep expertise managing professional communities and a keen eye for extracting relevant messages from technical subjects. Proficiency with social platforms, modern content creation tools (visual/video) and engagement analytics.
Operational rigor: Strong event coordination skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks while anticipating deadlines.
Bilingual: Fluency in French and English due to interactions with some of our partners, stakeholders and members of our anglophone academic community.
Mindset: You are an ‘in-the-moment’ activator — you don’t wait for a perfect brief; you see content opportunities everywhere and act on them.
Portfolio: You must provide a portfolio or links to content, online campaigns or event activations you have led.
