About the role

  • Events & Community Manager at Dex organizing events for engineers to build a thriving community. Managing logistics, hosting gatherings, and nurturing relationships within the tech sector.

Responsibilities

  • Own the end to end events calendar, from intimate engineer dinners through to larger flagship moments, ideating formats, booking venues, managing speakers, running invites, logistics, budgets and on the night execution
  • Host. You are the face in the room, setting the tone, making introductions, making sure the right people meet the right people
  • Grow and nurture our community of senior engineers, turning one-off attendees into genuine regulars who bring their best friends next time
  • Partner with the wider organisation to capture and create content and brand moments that come out of the community (interviews, recap pieces, social, partnerships)
  • Shape our follow up and engagement approach, helping us to compound with each event rather than start from scratch.

Requirements

  • You've run high quality events, you understand how to bring all the components together to ensure a successful event, and enjoy doing it.
  • You are part of, or deeply understand technical and developer audiences, you might not have been an engineer, but you understand the memes, the references and what this audience likes.
  • You have a eye for detail and care that things go well, you think about even the smallest details.
  • Organised to the point of being slightly intense about it. Guest lists, schedules, budgets, suppliers, you run it all and nothing slips.
  • You can host. You're warm, charismatic and unfazed by a room full of senior engineers and founders. People remember you.
  • Commercial. You understand events and community are part of building our business, you know the difference between an event that was well attended, and one that the right people went to.
  • AI fluent. Everyone on this team uses agents to move faster. You aren't an exception.
  • Ambitious and a good human. Fun to work with, direct, gets things done.
  • Note: We know that talent can't be summed up in a few bullet points. Even if you don't match everything we've mentioned, we don't want that to be a barrier. If you're excited about what we're building, we want to hear from you.
