About the role
- Surgical Technician responsible for perioperative patient care and assisting in surgical procedures. Working collaboratively in operating room settings to ensure optimal patient safety and care standards.
Responsibilities
- Providing proficient perioperative patient care through the use of equipment and instrumentation
- Functioning as a scrub assistant to the physician performing operative and/or invasive procedures
- Working under the direction of a Registered Nurse
- Verifying functioning and adequate availability of supplies/instruments/equipment prior to the surgical procedure
- Ensuring safe care to patients, staff, and visitors
- Promoting individual professional growth and development
Requirements
- Graduate of a Surgical Technologist Program
- Certified in Basic Life Support
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist by the National Board of Surgical Technology & Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
- 2 years of acute care experience required
- 1+ year of CV (open heart) or Vascular experience preferred within the last 3 years
