About the role

  • HR Business Partner consulting with business units and HR colleagues to address employee relations and development issues. Enabling effective HR processes and workforce planning while fostering employee satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • consults with business units and HR colleagues to identify business and/or people concerns and work together to develop solutions
  • achieves employee and management satisfaction through the direction, development and implementation of effective employee relations, recruiting and selection processes and training programs
  • provides counsel to managers and leaders regarding employee relations issues
  • interprets employment laws and company policies and procedures
  • advises supervisors with regard to disciplinary action, company policies, procedures, and practices
  • works closely with managers and employees at all levels to initiate employee development programs and provide individual development and career counseling
  • provides insight, leadership and support for short-term and long-term workforce planning using data driven analysis
  • leads recruitment and selection activities
  • leads the exempt and non-exempt salary review process
  • interacts daily with employees in assigned areas of responsibility to answer questions, facilitate issue resolution, improve employee morale and maintain visibility of the HR function
  • leads HR process improvement initiatives and special projects and/or training initiatives from start to finish
  • utilizes the 6 McCormick High Performance Systems (Goal Setting, Performance Management, Problem Solving & Decision Making, Training & Development, Information Systems, Rewards & Recognition) to empower and develop

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology or another related field
  • Minimum 6 years of professional experience in Human Resources (HR) or a closely related field
  • Minimum 2 years of experience leading projects, processes and/or teams
  • Strong verbal, written, critical thinking and interpersonal skills
  • Strong PC skills, including Microsoft Office Suite
  • ERP or HRIS experience
  • Experience coaching / counseling across levels and functions
  • Tact, confidentiality, diplomacy, and ability to influence without direct authority
  • Experience successfully managing programs
  • Strong team work skills to include experience collaborating with cross functional teams
  • Experience defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts and drawing valid conclusions
  • Ability and willingness to work flexible hours and days to support the business needs of a 3 shift production operation
