About the role

  • Senior Financial Analyst responsible for financial reporting and analysis at Manulife, contributing to finance transformation initiatives and operational improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare standard financial reports for both internal and external use each month and quarter
  • Ensure the data is accurate and of high quality
  • Provide commentary on variances and key figures at month-end
  • Conduct relevant analysis with commentary, engage with various teams, and develop reports to respond to ad-hoc queries
  • Contribute to operational improvements and participate in special projects to advance service excellence and best-in-class capabilities
  • Identify and implement continuous financial operational improvements to enhance the timeliness and integrity of financial reporting and data
  • Foster strong relationships with Operating Segment teams and other functional areas, promoting a collaborative "work as one" culture
  • Assist with workflow process analysis, transformation initiatives, and ensure excellent customer service by promoting client centricity

Requirements

  • University degree in accounting, finance, or business management and or recognized accounting designation (CPA, CMA, CGA or CA is a plus)
  • 5 years or more of progressive experience in Finance within a large multinational organization
  • Strong business sense with ability to communicate financial concepts and results in a clear, concise, easy to understand manner (verbal & written)
  • Proficiency with MS Applications (including Office & Power BI) particularly MS Excel
  • Knowledge of Essbase/Smartview and Infor (or other enterprise finance applications) is an asset
