About the role

  • Lead Transport's Parliamentary Liaison function and support Ministers at Transport for NSW. Collaborate to improve parliamentary support and manage government relations effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Transport’s Parliamentary Liaison function
  • Support for Ministers on sitting days, responses to parliamentary questions, notices of motion speeches, coordination of Parliamentary Inquiries and Budget Estimates
  • Drive forward planning and programming of upcoming parliamentary business
  • Monitor Parliament in real time and provide analysis and advice on emerging issues and contentious matters
  • Lead enterprise-wide Budget Estimates preparation as a flagship program

Requirements

  • Extensive understanding of State Government systems, policies, and practices
  • High-level communication skills including the ability to write in plain English and critically analyse complex information
  • Strong influencing and stakeholder management capabilities across diverse senior stakeholders and operational teams
  • Sound judgment in handling sensitive and contentious issues in political frameworks with competing deadlines
