About the role

Responsibilities
- Lead a high-performing team to provide expert commercial advice.
- Support cross-functional teams to achieve business goals in rail infrastructure.

- Partner closely with the Contract & Corridor Management team and collaborate with the Transport Asset Management (TAM) to secure funding, manage commercial compliance, and align financial processes to strategic asset needs.
- Build trusted relationships across Transport, providing senior level commercial advice and contributing to high impact decisions.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in commercial and contract management, ideally in multi‑modal or rail infrastructure environments.
- Strong capability in budgeting, forecasting, financial controls and commercial reporting.
- Demonstrated experience managing contract payments, variations and supplier performance.
- Ability to build effective relationships with technical and operational leaders, including asset management teams.
- Proven success advising executives on commercial and risk matters in complex, fast‑paced environments.
- Leadership experience in developing high‑performing teams.
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline (law, commerce, business) or equivalent expertise.
- Highly credible advisor to executives, with the presence to influence, negotiate and balance commercial, community and operational priorities.
- Values‑led leader aligned to public sector purpose, stewardship and accountability.
