Responsibilities
Take executive accountability for the operational technology infrastructure and systems that underpin train control and rail communications across the Greater Sydney Network
Lead the strategic management of data and voice networks, optical fibre systems, wireless infrastructure, condition monitoring, passenger information systems, and control systems
Provide strategic leadership to a large, diverse workforce, building internal capability while driving continuous improvement in asset performance and long-term financial planning
Develop and deliver Asset Management Plans and Maintenance Programs that balance operational excellence with commercial discipline
Partner closely with internal and external stakeholders to align operational technology delivery with Sydney Trains' broader business objectives
Drive efficiency, innovation, and commerciality while maintaining unwavering focus on safety responsibilities within Sydney Trains' safety management framework
Requirements
Strategic technical leader with tertiary qualifications in electrical/electronic/telecommunications engineering or related discipline
Proven track record in operations and maintenance leadership within complex, technology-driven environments
Demonstrated success leading multi-discipline teams to deliver complex maintenance programs and technical solutions on time and within budget
Deep expertise across Asset Management, networking, condition monitoring, control systems, and cyber security operations
Strong foundation in Reliability Centred Maintenance, risk management, and configuration management processes
Executive presence with the ability to provide high-level strategic advice and manage stakeholder expectations across government and industry
