About the role

  • Senior Manager overseeing project delivery of workforce transformation initiatives at Transport for NSW. Leading teams and ensuring alignment with strategic objectives in a hybrid work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee project allocation and prioritisation, establishing governance across the Workforce program portfolio and guiding stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery of large-scale, high-risk digital transformation initiatives.
  • Be accountable for the design and implementation of large-scale, people-focused transformation initiatives, including but not limited to those responding to government circulars, integrity body recommendations, or cultural reform agendas.
  • Ensure alignment with strategic objectives, compliance with public sector governance frameworks, and effective coordination of cross-functional teams, vendors, and stakeholders.
  • Lead a team of four (4) to drive business outcomes and contribute to the development of the Centre of Excellence (COE) fostering collaboration to enhance project capability.
  • Provide coaching and mentorship to leaders and project professionals, promoting continuous learning.
  • Partner with the Project Management Office (PMO) to define program/project scope and requirements, while leading the team to drive effective program planning
  • Oversee project governance, methodology and assurance, and ensure they align with the portfolio framework and project delegations.
  • Ensure program outcomes are delivered in alignment with established process frameworks and set portfolio standards.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated leadership in delivering complex workforce transformation and reform programs
  • Experience leading matrixed teams to deliver the associated project elements, including but not limited to change management, process improvement, and strategic planning and execution within a complex and constrained environment.
  • Deep understanding of public sector workforce strategy, policy, and award interpretation
  • Sound understanding of key project management methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall.
  • Advanced stakeholder engagement and communication skills in a government context
  • Tertiary qualifications in business or a related field, or demonstrated, equivalent professional experience.
  • Professional certifications such as Project Management Professional (PMP), Agile, Prosci, or Six Sigma.
