About the role

  • Payroll & Benefits Specialist supporting U.S. operations from Colombia. Handling payroll processing and employee benefits with a focus on compliance and efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Onboard and offboard employees in our HRIS system
  • Process weekly multi-state payroll for 250–300 employees with accuracy and timeliness
  • Reconcile discrepancies, manage garnishments, and lead off-cycle payments
  • Serve as the primary liaison with payroll vendors and internal stakeholders
  • Oversee employee benefits (health, dental, vision, 401(k), etc.), including enrollments and renewals
  • Support billing, vendor updates, and compliance audits (e.g., ACA, COBRA, ERISA)
  • Respond to questions regarding payroll, benefits, time off, and related policies
  • Maintain employee records related to payroll and benefits in the HRIS

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in payroll and/or benefits administration, ideally in a multi-state environment
  • Familiarity with payroll systems (e.g., Gusto, ADP, Paylocity) and benefits platforms
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage sensitive information with discretion
  • Excellent communication in English and problem-solving skills
  • Working knowledge of wage and hour laws, benefits compliance, and best practices
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • HR certification or coursework (a plus but not required)
  • Open to working across U.S. timezones
