Responsibilities
Manages building operations for multiple buildings including event space, facilities management, movement of occupants, space allocation and budget management
Serves as the main point of contact for building operations, support services and leadership
Interacts with university leadership, faculty, staff and vendors
Coordinates and oversees work of staff for facilities, event and related work
Provides continuous process improvement and building policy review
Primary contact for lab safety concerns, equipment certifications and other infrastructure issues
Prepares regular building summary reports to governance/leadership
Manages occupant service requests and receives budget approvals
Meets with facilities and custodial staff and completes building walkthroughs
Reviews preventive maintenance schedule
Develops annual facilities budget in coordination with guidelines and presents for approval
Oversees annual budget for building operations; communicates with financial leadership regularly
Manages building access data and key requests
Approves all physical signage and coordinates digital signage maintenance
Acts as the main contact for dining services
Monitors usage and policy enforcement of shared spaces
Maintains building space assignments and complies with university policies
Requirements
Bachelor's degree and three years of building operations or related experience, preferably in an educational and/or laboratory setting
Demonstrated analytical skills to analyze and monitor complex space, equipment and financial data
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
Working knowledge of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Familiarity with emergency preparedness plans and property administration specific to receiving and inventory control is desirable
