IT Infrastructure Operations Manager responsible for ensuring the reliability of HP’s on-prem infrastructure. Leading operations, managing teams, and complying with corporate governance.
Responsibilities
Lead daily operations for HP’s on-prem infrastructure, including Windows/Linux compute, VMWare/KVM/Hyper-V virtualization, HPE XP and mid-range storage, SAN infrastructure, and data center facilities.
Govern the operational performance of MSPs delivering infrastructure support services, ensuring compliance with SLAs, KPIs, contractual obligations, and HP policies.
Conduct regular service reviews, performance evaluations, capacity discussions, and operational drills with MSP partners.
Maintain uptime, reliability, and operational discipline across mission-critical workloads with defined SLAs.
Oversee incident, problem, and change processes aligned with HP’s ITSM framework, ensuring rapid restoration and controlled change execution.
Govern HA capabilities within each data center using snapshots, replication, clustering strategies, and automated recovery workflows.
Oversee MSP execution of SAN replication, DR procedures, failover readiness testing, and recovery runbooks between HP’s peer data centers.
Partner with Architecture and Engineering to modernize DR strategy, enhance resiliency, and maintain lifecycle currency.
Manage and develop a blended operational team consisting of HP employees and MSP resources.
Requirements
7+ years of infrastructure operations experience in large enterprise environments.
3+ years leading teams and/or MSPs supporting mission-critical on-prem workloads.
Strong experience with enterprise storage (HPE XP/Peer Persistence, SAN replication), compute, virtualization (KVM/Hyper-V), and backup technologies (HPE StoreOnce).
Demonstrated success managing high-availability and DR across multiple data centers.
Experience managing service providers, vendor SLAs, and operational contracts.
Working knowledge of automation (PowerShell, Ansible, Python) and configuration management.
Strong familiarity with ITIL processes.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
