Sales Engineer managing retrofit and modernization projects in Intralogistics at HÖRMANN. Collaborating with sales and engineering teams to optimize customer logistics.
Responsibilities
Primary point of contact for retrofit, modernization and expansion projects, especially in the area of plant control systems and mechanical equipment
Proactively engage existing and prospective customers about modernization options and technical upgrades
Gather, analyze and document customer requirements, technical constraints and modernization potentials
Prepare quotations including cost calculations, price determination, inquiries to sub-suppliers, cost–benefit assessments and post-calculations
Close coordination with Sales, Purchasing and specialist departments to implement technically and economically optimal solutions
Manage retrofit and modernization projects, including schedule, resource, budget and risk management
Requirements
Completed technical training or degree, e.g., in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation Technology, Mechanical Engineering or a comparable field
Initial to several years of experience in technical sales, engineering, service or project execution, ideally in intralogistics, plant engineering or retrofit/modernization projects
Strong technical understanding of mechanical systems, control or automation technology and experience in analyzing customer requirements and developing technical concepts
Analytical, structured and self-directed with a commercial mindset
Confident customer-facing manner and strong communication skills
Good German skills (at least B2/C1); English skills are an advantage
Willingness to travel occasionally for business and possession of a valid driving licence (Class B)
