About the role

  • Construction Claims Consultant leading forensic schedules and analyses for power and nuclear projects at HKA. Engaging with senior energy utilities and overseeing expert reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Lead forensic schedule analyses (baseline, updates, as-built) and delay/impact assessments in Primavera P6, specifically for power generation, transmission/distribution, and nuclear projects
  • Direct organization of project records, document chronologies, and labor/cost analyses for complex energy-sector projects
  • Oversee Expert Reporting; act as or prepare for expert testimony, including report drafting and court documentation
  • Ensure methodological rigor, consistency, and clear client communication across deliverables
  • Manage delivery of multiple complex projects, including scope, resources, budgets, and efficiency
  • Identify, escalate, and mitigate project risks; recommend practical solutions while following firm processes
  • Build and maintain senior-level relationships within energy utilities, EPC contractors, and nuclear operators
  • Mentor and develop teams, foster a feedback culture, and represent HKA through thought leadership and industry engagement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a STEM field (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Nuclear preferred)
  • 1+ years experience with drafting and management of Expert Reports, with strong preference for experience as an Expert Witness
  • 8+ years in Construction and Consulting, with demonstrable experience on Power, Energy, or Nuclear projects (e.g., utilities, EPC firms, Department of Energy projects)
  • Experience providing litigation support as part of claims delivery projects
  • Strong understanding of construction documentation (contracts, RFIs, submittals, schedules) and quality control processes
  • Expert in forensic scheduling using Primavera P6, including delay and impact analysis
  • Ability to manage and draft Expert Reports to support Expert Witness testimony
  • Skilled in advanced Excel for large-data analysis and producing client-ready visuals and reports
  • Experienced in building senior client relationships and crafting well-scoped proposals
  • Demonstrated leadership in mentoring, delegation, and performance management.
