About the role

  • Payroll Administrator managing payroll processing and compliance at Purpose Financial. Executing payroll transactions accurately while ensuring legal compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Execute regular and off-cycle payroll processing with a high degree of accuracy and timeliness
  • Process employee lifecycle transactions including new hires, terminations, job changes, pay changes, and deductions
  • Review payroll inputs for completeness and accuracy prior to payroll submission
  • Validate payroll data including earnings, deductions, and time entries
  • Assist with payroll corrections, reversals, retroactive adjustments, and manual calculations as needed
  • Maintain payroll documentation, process guides, and audit support materials
  • Support multi-state payroll processing, including employee Form W-4 setup and maintenance
  • Partner with payroll leadership on reconciliations, and issue resolution
  • Escalate complex or compliance-related issues appropriately
  • Maintain proper documentation and records to support payroll transactions and compliance efforts
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for employee payroll questions, issue resolution, and customer service
  • Provide timely and professional customer service to resolve payroll-related concerns
  • Provide guidance and support to employees on payroll-related matters, such as pay deductions and taxes
  • Assist employees with accessing and navigating the SuccessFactors Payroll self-service portal
  • Support testing of payroll system updates and enhancements
  • Collaborate with HR, Finance, and IT teams to ensure data accuracy across systems
  • Provide backup payroll processing support to ensure business continuity
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to discussions on payroll process improvements
  • Other duties as required

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent and 3–5 years of payroll processing experience required
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred
  • 3–5 years of payroll processing experience, preferably in a multi-state environment
  • Working knowledge of payroll systems; experience with SuccessFactors ECP (Employee Central Payroll) strongly preferred
  • Experience performing payroll audits and reconciliations
  • Understanding of payroll deductions, garnishments, and basic payroll tax concepts
  • Ability to identify discrepancies and escalate issues appropriately
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills with ability to meet strict deadlines
  • Meticulous attention to detail with a high level of accuracy in all payroll functions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for collaboration with employees and internal teams
  • Customer-service oriented with strong interpersonal skills
  • Adaptability and flexibility to work in dynamic, high-volume, fast-paced payroll environments
  • Ability to understand and follow policies, procedures, and laws governing payroll operations.
