About the role

  • Develops and leads the overall marketing and brand strategy for HCR
  • Manages marketing overall budget and ensures effective expenditures
  • Oversees and assists in development of marketing strategy and plans for frontlist releases
  • Focuses on promotions and marketing strategies for backlist
  • Leads the marketing staff in executing plans and nurturing relationships with authors and agents
  • Collaborates with sales leaders and retailers
  • Oversees management and updates of HCR website and social media platforms
  • Prepares and delivers special presentations for key authors and sales teams
  • Experiments with new approaches to Bible study promotion tactics
  • Directs consumer testing and research strategy to ensure customer voice is heard
  • Drives strategic acquisition priorities in collaboration with the publisher.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience (7-10+ years) in marketing and publicity
  • Expertise in brand management and strategic planning
  • Personal involvement in Bible studies and small groups essential
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Publicity, Communications, or related area
  • Master’s Degree and Seminary education preferred
  • Knowledge of traditional and nontraditional marketing, digital marketing, branding, and promotional copy writing
  • Awareness of publishing content, branding, marketing, and sales trends
  • Knowledge of book general market and Christian book and Bible study market preferred.
