Responsibilities
As Project Manager (m/f/d) Events, you are part of our Events team at Spreepark
In this position you design, curate and take responsibility for various site- and program-specific event formats and implement them with the opening of Spreepark
In event conception and execution you assume project leadership, coordinate artists and trades, and ensure compliance with all safety-related aspects
In addition to planning and coordinating in-house highlight events and festivals and participating in external festivals, you will operationally support colleagues in the delivery of various smaller formats and third-party events
Concept development, curation, independent coordination with all parties in advance, contract drafting, budgeting and final accounting of events are core responsibilities
You will maintain regular communication with internal specialist departments and report to the Team Lead Event Management Spreepark
Your tasks include, in particular:
• Developing, curating and implementing self-produced cultural formats, highlight events and selected collaborations from concept to evaluation
• Planning, budgeting, organizing, executing and following up/evaluating various event formats
• Obtaining offers, selecting, commissioning and managing service providers, and coordinating all trades involved in events
• Acquiring and managing artists and partners (booking, contracts, rider coordination)
• Ensuring compliance with event regulations including any required registrations and settlements
• Calculating and assessing event risks and deriving and implementing required measures and concepts
• Planning and coordinating event technical requirements in cooperation with the person responsible for event technology
• Close coordination with colleagues in the events team and internal departments (operations, art, environmental education, marketing) and, where necessary, authorities
• Preparing run, production and stage management plans and maintaining ongoing data
Requirements
Completed training as an event manager (Veranstaltungskauffrau/-mann) or a comparable qualification with relevant additional certification, or a degree in a related field
At least 3–5 years of professional experience in curatorial work, programme planning or production management, ideally in the cultural or events sector
Independent working style combined with a structured and careful approach and a strong hands-on mentality
Willingness to work flexibly (supporting events in the evenings and/or at weekends)
Driving license Class B
Strong communication skills and confident manner, especially in dealing with diverse artists and stakeholders
Experience in concept development
Proven experience in project management including event budgeting, controlling and evaluation
Experience working with public institutions and political stakeholders is an advantage
Experience in event technology is an advantage
Proficient user of MS Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and Outlook)
