About the role

  • External communications specialist responsible for enhancing fundraising communications for Girl Scouts of Oregon and Southwest Washington. Collaborating with teams to create engaging content and manage relations.

Responsibilities

  • Source content and produce clear, engaging communications
  • Implement communication strategies to advance fundraising and membership growth goals
  • Draft and edit fundraising content including direct mail, email, and social media communications
  • Collaborate on integrated membership marketing campaigns
  • Manage comprehensive interactive social media coverage
  • Frequently travel to staff and volunteer-led events to source photo and video content
  • Prepare content for donor communications and membership materials
  • Maintain the Newsroom on the GSOSW website and manage email campaigns in Salesforce Marketing Cloud

Requirements

  • At least seven (7) years of relevant education and experience
  • At least three (3) years’ experience in fundraising communications/marketing or a related field
  • At least two (2) years of writing and communications experience
  • Education or experience with an emphasis in journalism, communications, marketing, or public relations
  • Experience with email platforms (e.g. Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Raiser’s Edge), website platforms (e.g. Adobe Experience Manager, WordPress), Customer Relationship Management software (CRMs, e.g., Salesforce)
  • Proficient in project management software (e.g. Asana), basic photo and video editing (Adobe Rush, social video tools, etc.), and social media (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn)
