About the role

  • Student assistant in science communication focusing on content creation and social media at Fraunhofer IAIS. Engage in developing communication strategies and supporting social media efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing and producing content to communicate our research and transfer results across online and social media channels (primarily LinkedIn, Instagram, and YouTube) in text, image, and video formats
  • Support community management and the strategic development of our social media communication to target audiences, especially academia, industry, and policymakers
  • Contribute to the editorial maintenance of our websites and the production of our newsletter
  • Provide editorial support to researchers for studies, technical articles, and white papers
  • Assist in the creation of presentations, graphics, and specialist texts for science communication with a focus on innovation communication and knowledge transfer activities
  • Research current, media-relevant topics and developments in the field of artificial intelligence
  • Analyze and report on our social media posts and campaigns as well as our websites
  • Support additional communication activities such as press relations or professional events

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a degree program in journalism, communications, media studies, or a related field
  • Interest in current AI topics and creative ideas for explaining complex subjects clearly
  • Strong writing skills and experience in science, technology, or innovation communication
  • Proficient with social media platforms and modern web content management systems
  • Knowledge of video production tools, e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, is desirable
  • Independent working style and team spirit; thoroughness, reliability, and a strong sense of responsibility
  • Confident presence and strong communication skills, including interaction with external stakeholders from academia, industry, and policy
  • Excellent German language skills and very good English skills
