About the role

  • VP of Strategy & Corporate Development at Envista driving M&A growth and strategic initiatives in the dental industry. Collaborating with leadership to define actionable strategies for business expansion.

Responsibilities

  • Drive strategy development with executive teams, manage annual strategic planning process
  • Build out M&A funnel by leading market and competitive analysis in core and adjacent spaces
  • Identify attractive target companies, and cultivate their owners and management
  • Develop strategic rationale and financial business case for acquisitions, manage financial model
  • Negotiate NDA, prepare letter of intent, perform diligence, structure, and negotiate deal terms
  • Act as “deal quarterback”, advising and driving deal teams of experts from Corporate and operating companies and external advisors to complete work and reach investment recommendations
  • Present diligence findings and deal recommendations to Envista’s leadership team
  • Ensure effective management of post-closing deal terms, hand-over to integration teams, and tracking of successful deal execution

Requirements

  • BS or BA (or equivalent degree) required; top tier MBA or JD strongly preferred
  • 10 years+ experience in strategy development and mergers & acquisitions, having led multiple deals from start to finish.
  • Experience needs to include in-house M&A experience at a top-tier corporation
  • Prior M&A experience in private equity, law firm, investment bank, or accounting firm and/or strategy consulting experience at a top-tier management consulting firm strongly preferred
  • MedTech/Healthcare/Manufacturing and international transaction experience considered a plus
  • Have experience leading negotiations with an ability to listen, compromise and manage conflict
  • Be creative, intellectually curious, self-starting, and possess a strong work ethic
  • Possess strong judgment to form independent points of view on risks and opportunities on deals
  • Communicate clearly and concisely, distilling complex subjects into actionable decision frames
  • Demonstrate presence, credibility, integrity and trustworthiness in highly confidential situations
  • Build, critique, and refine financial models with strong financial, quantitative and analytical skills and provide and defend valuation recommendations.
