About the role

  • Senior Manager/Director for M&A Business Development at Ecolab, involved in strategic expansion and acquisition targeting. Leading due diligence and executing transactions in the Global Water business.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with internal stakeholders to conduct comprehensive portfolio reviews, identify growth opportunities and underperforming assets, and recommend strategic adjacencies to guide capital deployment and resource prioritization
  • Lead discussion/consideration of global inorganic growth opportunities, including strategic expansion platform opportunities, with division leadership
  • Prepare market taxonomy and/or market space gap analysis and identify specific potential targets for acquisition, partnership or otherwise in core and adjacent spaces
  • Profile, contact and engage prospective targets
  • Engage in focused outreach with investment banks, target company CEO’s/ management to build relationships
  • Prepare discussion, communication and internal approval materials as needed in support of potential acquisition or investment opportunities
  • Assemble and lead commercial due diligence team to develop business cases, translate diligence findings into, and identify integration planning implications
  • Partner with M&A, Minority Investments and Technology Partnership & Development teams to execute transactions

Requirements

  • Outstanding leader with strong relationship building skills
  • Strategic and business acumen
  • Experience in strategy development with exposure to M&A, investment, and partnership related work
  • Experience in Industrial and manufacturing centric businesses
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Solid financial and general business acumen
  • Ability to lead and work well in a global, team based, matrixed environment
  • An undergraduate degree in finance or related business degree or engineering/sciences, with an MBA or other advanced business degree required
  • 10-12 years professional experience including 5-7 years experience in business development, strategy, or strategic marketing
  • Domain knowledge in industrial processes, applied engineering and chemistry.
