About the role

  • Regional Communications Coordinator delivering communications for Ducks Unlimited across various teams and states. Involves project management, stakeholder engagement, and regular updates to leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a communications resource for multiple divisions: Develop and deliver press releases, DU magazine articles, project information sheets, story maps, PowerPoint presentations, speeches, quarterly newsletters and other materials for dozens of team members across 21 states.
  • Track and prioritize tasks: Maintain a detailed, ranked list of projects in progress and completed to demonstrate workload and ensure transparency.
  • Engage with field projects: Travel to project sites regularly, ensuring time is distributed evenly among the four regional initiatives—Living Lakes, Big Rivers, Great Lakes, and Completing the Cycle.
  • Provide regular updates to leadership: Communicate with the GLARO leadership team regularly and distribute a weekly communications report to all GLARO staff.
  • Anticipate challenges and manage expectations: Identify potential issues early and keep your direct supervisor informed about complex projects or difficult stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, public relations, or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience
  • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills (must present examples)
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines across a large geographic region
  • Excellent interpersonal and diplomatic communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite) preferred
  • Photography experience (must present examples)
  • Section 107 drone licenses (or willingness to attain one) preferred
  • Willingness to travel within the region.
