About the role

  • Product Designer managing packaging specifications on Packa's digital platform. Collaborating with teams to enhance sustainability and reduce packaging costs.

Responsibilities

  • Champion users and outcomes: Maintain a user-first perspective in every decision, ensuring designs deliver meaningful outcomes for users and measurable impact for the business.
  • Conduct user research and discovery: Lead interviews and workshops to understand customer needs, packaging workflows, and pain points.
  • Translate insights into solutions: Convert user and business requirements (e.g., LCA, recyclability) into actionable design concepts and product features.
  • Collaborate with Product Owner: Align on scope, user value, and business impact during discovery and ensure a shared understanding throughout development.
  • Support implementation: Work closely with engineering to preserve design intent and adapt to technical constraints.
  • Analyze and improve: Use data and feedback to continuously enhance usability, functionality, and the overall product experience.

Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of professional experience in Product Design, ideally in SaaS B2B environments.
  • Track record: Proven experience designing and shipping digital products end-to-end — from initial concept to live product — supported by a strong visual portfolio.
  • Design expertise: Deep understanding of interaction design, systems thinking, and user experience principles, with the ability to clarify complex or ambiguous problems.
  • Collaboration: Ability to work cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, and domain experts, balancing different perspectives and priorities. You ask questions, explore options, and connect insights to create better solutions.
  • Adaptability: Comfortable working in evolving environments, knowing when to push for excellence and when to move quickly.
  • Tools: Strong command of Figma (3+ years of daily use) and familiarity with common collaboration and research tools.
  • Language: Native-level German and fluent English for effective cross-team collaboration.
  • Background: Degree, vocational training, or bootcamp in a relevant field — practical experience is what matters most.
