About the role

Responsibilities

  • Own and Elevate Digital Merchandising
  • Lead the end-to-end digital merchandising vision for One Kings Lane assortment strategy, curation, product storytelling, content alignment, and onsite experience.
  • Plan and optimize categories, SKU mix, pricing, and lifecycle management to ensure a compelling and profitable assortment.
  • Ensure the site reflects best-in-class merchandising standards with a focus on conversion, revenue per visit, and visual excellence.
  • Shape the Site Experience & Creative Execution
  • Own the look, feel, and performance of the site—homepage, PLP, PDP, navigation, taxonomy, search, and UX improvements.
  • Partner with Engineering, Product, Creative, and Marketing to bring new site features to life, improve layouts, fix issues, and enhance creative presentation.
  • Ensure imagery, copy, layout, and creative assets are elevated and consistent with brand standards.
  • Leading and Modernizing Team
  • Lead and mentor a team blending creative, analytical, and technical merchandising skills.
  • “Lead by doing” hands-on with site updates, content QA, and merchandising optimization.
  • Create clarity, streamline workflows, and eliminate low-value tasks through automation or better tooling.
  • Vendor, Portfolio & Partner Leadership
  • Maintain and optimize a high-value vendor portfolio—contract terms, co-op strategy, cost negotiations, vendor segmentation, and performance management.
  • Leverage vendors strategically for product development, exclusive assortments, and margin expansion opportunities.

Requirements

  • 7-10 years in digital merchandising, category leadership, e-commerce, or GM/strategy roles; ideally with start-up or high-growth brand experience.
  • Proven track record owning revenue, site performance, and merchandising strategy at scale.
  • Strong command of analytics, financial modeling, revenue forecasting, SEO fundamentals, and digital performance dashboards.
  • Proficiency with merchandising and data platforms (PIM, DMP, NetSuite, CHUB, Bynder, Google Analytics, SEO tools).
  • Ability to operate like a product leader: defining problems, prioritizing the roadmap, using insights to drive decisions.
  • Hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Strong cross-functional communicator who can influence executives and collaborate with marketing, operations, finance, and product.
  • Passion for home, design, and customer experience.
