About the role

  • Manager for Global Resource Department in healthcare language services by leading localization strategies and ensuring alignment with company goals. Fostering collaboration across teams to enhance service quality.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the Global Resource Department consisting of Vendor Management (VM), Retainer Program (RP), and Linguistic Quality Assurance (LQA) teams.
  • Develop training plans to enhance technical expertise and support professional growth by acting as the main mentor for the team.
  • Serve as the central point of contact for the Global Resource Department across the organization.
  • Own the long-term strategy for the Global Resource Department including external and internal resource pools ensuring alignment with company growth plans with a focus on quality, timeliness, and cost efficiency.
  • Work with the different sub-teams (VM, RP, and LQA) to create goals and department development objectives and opportunities.
  • Identify opportunities to expand the retainer pool into new languages, services, or operational models to support current and future capacity needs.
  • Monitor resource use distribution to ensure utilization of Retainers is prioritized over freelancers.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities to increase productivity, reduce manual tasks, and enhance quality.
  • Collaborate with Technology to implement tools for automation and overall efficiency.
  • Support Machine Translation (MT) and AI related initiatives in partnership with LQA and MT teams.
  • Work with Compliance to craft, edit and publish documentation to manage operations within the department.
  • Collaborate with Production to forecast demands, anticipate bottlenecks, and maintain optimal staffing levels.
  • Monitor and improve LQA quality standards, benchmarks, and performance.
  • Conduct quality audits to ensure consistent accuracy, compliance, and linguistic excellence.
  • Support corrective action processes (CAPA) in collaboration with compliance and production teams.
  • Define and track key KPIs including utilization, capacity, cost savings, and program performance.
  • Deliver clear, actionable monthly reports to senior leadership with insights and recommendations.
  • Partner with BI teams to build reporting solutions for quality, TAT, productivity, and utilization trends.
  • Design and oversee a scalable supply chain structure enabling production and operational growth.
  • Maintain strong relationships with top vendors through regular business reviews.
  • Monitor vendor usage from cost, quality, and compliance perspectives; negotiate pricing and performance improvements.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Production to support RFI/RFP responses and capacity planning for new clients.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in translation industry in a client centric environment; supply chain management a plus
  • Strong leadership skills, experiencing in coaching and mentoring
  • Deep understanding of the localization and translation industry, end-to-end translation lifecycle, linguist workflows, and knowledge of qualification processes.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with experience in developing KPIs, dashboards, and reports, to drive business decisions.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage complex, multi-faceted programs.
  • Excellent people management and relationship-building skills.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to executive audiences.
  • A natural collaborator who can effectively influence and work with stakeholders across different departments.
  • A creative and strategic problem-solver with a 'think outside the box' mentality.
  • A strong sense of ownership and accountability, with a relentless focus on achieving results.
  • Strong computer skills including MS Office and Adobe software products
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience.
