Business Development Manager for Vetter, identifying and qualifying prospective companies, and promoting through various channels. Requires technical degree and experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
Responsibilities
Identifies and qualifies potential companies within the territory to create and regularly update a target customer list
Works closely with the Early Stage colleague to discuss transfer strategy and to provide the appropriate molecules from Chicago and Rankweil
Prepares proposals/quotations for prospective customers
Facilitates and negotiates confidentiality, development and supply agreements with potential customers in collaboration with Vetter’s legal department, where required
Actively promotes Vetter via social media, professional associations and trade shows
Organizes customer visits in Germany
Contacts biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies and regularly reviews leads
Creates and maintains a shared lead database
Develops new business opportunities and demonstrates proactive customer engagement
Builds active relationships with relevant consultants; seeks new networking opportunities, nurtures new leads and promotes Vetter
Must be an active “hunter” for new business
This position requires 30–50% travel
Identifies exhibition opportunities and represents the company at trade shows; speaks at relevant industry events
Provides proactive advice to potential customers and consults on development strategy
Answers 80% of customer questions within the Late Stage NBD team without involving subject-matter experts
Manages active customer accounts without escalation to VP level
Requirements
Technical degree (B.Sc. or M.Sc.) in an applied science (e.g., Biotechnology) or Engineering; sales experience in the technical pharmaceutical industry desirable
MBA and strong customer management skills preferred
Experience in aseptic pharmaceutical manufacturing and packaging highly desirable
Knowledge of the specific needs and requirements of a contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO/CMO)
English fluency required; German advantageous
