About the role

  • GIS Manager overseeing utility database expansion in a hybrid role at a construction tech SaaS company. Providing technical guidance and management for a data team.

Responsibilities

  • Provides technical guidance, mentorship, and leadership to team of GIS Analysts
  • Identifies and executes on process improvement opportunities in coordination with key stakeholders
  • Creates a positive work culture that aids in team member engagement, motivation, and retention
  • QA/QC of team’s work products
  • Works with leadership to establish priorities and goals for the team
  • Works with leadership to develop standard operating procedure and training/onboarding documentation
  • Works with leadership to establish career development and evaluation plan

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in GIS adjacent field (GIS, Geography, Environmental Science, Computer Science, etc.)
  • 5+ years of GIS experience, including 2+ years in a supervisor or managerial role
  • Proficiency in SQL and Python
  • Experience with project management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to operate and manage in a hybrid setting
  • Willing to work in Downtown KC 1-2 days per week
