About the role

  • VP of Core Operations & Development overseeing strategy and technology at a credit union. Leading system management, compliance, and budgeting to support innovative member experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Develops the Credit Union’s core system infrastructure strategy with the Chief Digital & Information Officer
  • Leads changes supporting the adoption of current and emerging technologies
  • Plans core system infrastructure in alignment with credit union-wide business requirements
  • Ensures stability & compliance with regulatory mandates
  • Responsible for budgeting, setting service standards, handling escalations, managing the core system & external core applications
  • Oversees programming analysis, coding and testing functions.
  • Provides technical leadership for the Manager/Software Development
  • Supports applications programming and software testing team members
  • Ensures capacity planning and vendor management of core system and ancillary systems
  • Maintains technical specifications and related documentation
  • Conducts ongoing evaluation of infrastructure and services
  • Executes technology projects with multiple vendors, PMO, and other resources

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 8 years of programming experience
  • 10 years of experience managing developers and the development function
  • Minimum 6 years of experience working in an IT environment at a financial institution
  • Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple complex projects simultaneously
  • Demonstrated advanced logic and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated professional and interpersonal skills for leading, motivating, and communicating with team members
  • Extensive knowledge of computer, network, and security systems.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a Computer Science-related field (preferred)
  • 3 years of Symitar experience (preferred)
