About the role

  • Instructional Designer collaborating on e-learning content development for Carilion Clinic, focusing on quality learning activities and instructional technology. Requires expertise in design and delivery of online courses.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a consultant, educator, and facilitator for the development of online content
  • Collaborate with program directors, faculty, and subject matter experts to select, design, develop, and implement quality learning activities
  • Develop engaging, interactive learning modules utilizing the latest technology and media such as web-based, CD, video, and podcasting
  • Follow appropriate e-learning standards/guidelines using tools such as Captivate, Camtasia, Dreamweaver, Articulate, Photoshop, and Softchalk
  • Ensure the timely delivery of synchronous and asynchronous content
  • Review courseware deliverables to ensure instructional soundness

Requirements

  • Three to five years of instructional design experience required
  • Demonstrated experience in designing and delivering online and instructor-led classes
  • Must have advanced skills in Microsoft Word and Powerpoint
  • Experience in video production and editing, Cornerstone on Demand and In Design preferred
  • Experience in various design software such as Captivate and Storyline
