About the role

  • Instructional Designer for ASU developing scalable learning experiences across multiple modalities. Collaborating with faculty and industry partners to enhance education access and quality.

Responsibilities

  • Assesses, designs, implements, and provides instructional design support for in one or more units to develop resources and materials to support teaching and learning.
  • Collaborate with faculty, subject matter experts, product teams, and industry partners to design high-quality learning experiences delivered through a variety of platforms and modalities including online asynchronous and synchronous immersion classes.
  • Apply evidence-based learning science, modern pedagogical practices, and emerging educational technologies to design engaging and effective learning experiences.
  • Leverage tools such as Canvas and modern authoring platforms, while integrating artificial intelligence (AI) and automation tools into the course design and development process.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and three (3) years of experience appropriate to the area of assignment/field; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or training from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
  • Experience designing and developing asynchronous online courses and synchronous immersion experiences.
  • Demonstrated experience applying instructional design methodologies such as backward design and Universal Design for Learning (UDL).
  • Experience using learning technologies such as Canvas, Articulate Rise, Storyline, H5P, or similar rapid authoring tools.
  • Experience collaborating with faculty, subject matter experts, and interdisciplinary project teams.
  • Experience integrating multimedia, interactive learning elements, and technology-enhanced learning strategies.
  • Experience applying data-informed approaches to course design and continuous improvement.
  • Experience working with or evaluating artificial intelligence tools in instructional design workflows.
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards such as WCAG.
  • Experience designing learning experiences that support workforce development, professional learning, and executive education, including synchronous or immersion learning programs.
