About the role

  • Adolescent Mental Health Counsellor in Shared Health responsible for client care and treatment planning. Delivering therapeutic interventions and fostering community resource utilization within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the delivery of direct client care; the planning, implementation and evaluation of client treatment plans;
  • Planning and facilitation of group therapy programs;
  • The provision of therapeutic clinical interventions and effective milieu management;
  • Community resource identification and utilization;
  • Establishing professional working relationships within the multidisciplinary team and community.

Requirements

  • A minimum of two years related practical experience.
  • Child and adolescent experience preferred.
  • Completion of a university degree with specialization in one of the Social Sciences or completion of the Child & Youth Care Worker Diploma Program or equivalent.
  • Certification/Licensure/Registration: Preference will be given to active members of the Child & Youth Care Worker Association of Manitoba.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver direct client care.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, implement, and evaluate client treatment plans.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide therapeutic clinical interventions and effective milieu management.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain professional working relationships within the multidisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain the focus of community resource identification and utilization.
