About the role
- Consultant responsible for updating the SIGE education strategy in Burundi. Collaborating with various educational institutions and stakeholders to enhance data and statistical quality.
Responsibilities
- Conduct a thorough, multidimensional assessment of the current state of the SIGE in Burundi
- Conduct national-level interviews with primary producers and users of school statistics, such as the Ministry(ies) of Education
- Analyze the current functional relationship between the SIGE, the Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies of Burundi (ISTEEBU), and the operations of the General Population and Housing Census (RGPH)
- Prepare the diagnostic report on the education sector statistical system
Requirements
- Advanced university degree (Master’s level or equivalent) in education sciences, evaluation, statistics, economics, or related disciplines
- At least 10 years of experience providing support and conducting qualitative and quantitative analyses in education
- Proven experience of at least 5 years in evaluating and developing strategic plans for EMIS/SIGE
- Experience in evaluating and implementing DQAF or other data quality assessment frameworks in African contexts
- Experience in decentralizing information systems and developing interfaces/dashboards at decentralized levels
- Excellent writing and communication skills, with strong interpersonal and presentation abilities
- Good computer skills and basic knowledge of relational database management and EMIS/SIGE technical architecture
- Proficiency in French (spoken and written)
