Ambulatory Support Manager at Lurie Children’s Hospital coordinating Point of Service support activities and managing teams in outpatient clinics. Ensures staffing, training, and quality improvement for pediatric care services.
Responsibilities
Plays a critical role as the ambulatory liaison across Ambulatory areas and clusters.
Collaborates closely with medical, nursing and ancillary leadership to coordinate the day to day Point-of-Service support activities in the ambulatory clinics and selected ancillary areas.
Manages Point of Service teams and operational functions of the assigned areas.
Responsible for leadership, direction and coordination for the ambulatory and selected ancillary Point of Service support services functions.
Supplements staffing routinely for additional support to the Point of Service team in ambulatory and ancillary areas as needed.
Promotes growth and development of staff through counseling, recognition, and feedback.
Fosters and facilitates customer-oriented communication and service excellence.
Directs team members in communicating with one another, and serves as a conduit for information that flows from the team to other organizational wide departments.
Responsible for the human resource functions of recruitment/selection and retention.
Coordinates with all stakeholders including Revenue Cycle to ensure all collections are processed appropriately and documented within the E.H.R. as outlined in training.
Monitors progress, reports and justifies any significant variance which occurs.
Oversees and manages quality improvement activities and customer service initiatives related to ambulatory operations and POS staff.
Requirements
High school diploma required.
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in a healthcare environment required.
Excellent communication/listening skills.
Ability to make quick, accurate decisions on a daily basis.
Knowledge of medical terminology, third party billing, and managed care requirements.
Proficient computer skills and aptitude.
Substantial interpersonal skills sufficient to work effectively with pediatric patients, families, physicians, nursing and other allied health and medical center personnel.
Good analytical ability, excellent organizational skills.
