About the role

  • Director of Banking Operations at Canada Life ensuring accurate execution of key transactions and processes. Leading teams and developing budgets while fostering collaboration in financial services.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strong leadership and oversight of daily operations, including cash and reconciliations, corporate transactions, dividend workflows, and fraud mitigation
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to accelerate the development of team members
  • Develop the departmental budget and strategic business plan
  • Build collaborative partnerships with other internal business units
  • Develop and cultivate effective relationships with external business partners
  • Provide oversight of internal/external audit requests and testing
  • Provide leadership and support the Cash Solutions and Corporate Services teams
  • Participate in and complete ad hoc projects and reports

Requirements

  • 7+ years of relevant financial services or accounting experience
  • CPA is considered an asset
  • Highly motivated, agile, with a proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet strict deadlines with multiple deliverables
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical capabilities, with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to anticipate, analyze and respond to a rapidly evolving and complex environment
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proven ability to build collaborative partnerships
  • Reliability Status Security Clearance required after offer of employment
