About the role

  • Philanthropic Consultant providing strategic fundraising support to nonprofits. Engaging with clients across higher education and healthcare sectors to enhance their impact.

Responsibilities

  • Manage large-scale engagements by coordinating multiple internal and external resources, managing resources and budgets, and ensuring alignment across workstreams while maintaining accountability for deliverables and deadlines.
  • Engage clients effectively through structured meetings and presentations, providing intentional leadership and delivering insights that drive action across all stakeholder levels/groups.
  • Translate client needs and priorities from and/or into defined scopes, approaches, and deliverables that drive alignment between client expectations and company success.
  • Conduct tasks and projects for external clients, including program reviews, fundraising strategy development and implementation, board development, campaign counsel, and other services as needed.
  • Plays a key role in project management as well as risk management, proactively identifying challenges and implementing mitigation strategies to ensure smooth project execution and client satisfaction.
  • Responsible for business development efforts, including identifying new opportunities, cultivating long-term and new client relationships, drives company provided leads as seller or subject matter expert and supports overall business development processes.
  • Model and reinforce the company’s ethos high-performance, growth-mindset and serving and championing brand and market presence.
  • Meet annual productivity goals by delivering high-quality client work efficiently and identifying and extending client work.
  • Collaborate regularly with internal team members and clients to ensure delivery of cohesive and quality work products on deadline.
  • As opportunities are provided, create written content, and engage in speaking opportunities to promote expertise in philanthropy through firm and industry publications, conferences, or events.
  • Participate in ongoing internal activities as a productive and active member of the company. These may include orientation and ongoing training, firm-wide client review meetings, and other skill-building activities.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of donor facing fundraising experience in higher education and healthcare settings.
  • 2+ years of experience leading development/advancement organizations, including strategy development and execution.
  • 2+ years of experience leading a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop skills in others, with a strong aptitude for training, coaching, and effective knowledge transfer.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience presenting at conferences, demonstrated leadership within the philanthropic sector, and a strong interest in sharing knowledge and expertise with diverse audiences.
  • Powerful analytical skills, both qualitative and quantitative, and a solid strategic thinking.
  • Ability to create a strong, positive initial impression and maintain solid professional credibility.

  • Bachelor’s degree.
