About the role

  • Lead Consultant for the Indonesia Initiative at Climate and Land Use Alliance, providing strategic direction and oversight in climate-focused projects. Managing grant allocation and stakeholder engagement for sustainable land use.

Responsibilities

  • Guide the Indonesia Initiative Team through a period of strategic continuity and renewal.
  • Coordinate grantmaking and monitoring while enhancing relationships with stakeholders.
  • Provide thought leadership in climate change, land use, Indigenous peoples’ and local communities’ rights.
  • Lead the development, implementation, and ongoing refinement of Indonesia Initiative strategies.
  • Manage the Indonesia grant portfolio and budget.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 15 years’ work experience in a leadership position in nonprofit and/or philanthropic sector
  • Extensive experience in Indonesia’s climate, land use, and/or rights-based sectors
  • Demonstrated ability to lead strategy development and implementation in multi-stakeholder contexts
  • Proven capacity to build and sustain trust across a wide range of actors
  • Commitment to equity, justice, and shared leadership.
  • Fluency in Bahasa Indonesia and English, and strong intercultural communication skills.
