About the role

  • Business Development Manager responsible for achieving sales targets and managing key accounts for BSI. Requires strong experience in sales, account management, and business development in France.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve personal sales targets in line with the set budget for both Certification and Training sales.
  • Manage key account relationships.
  • Maintain personal Salesforce.com records.
  • Plan, develop, establish and maintain a database of market information and trends to support strategic decision-making.
  • Identify, develop and recommend new business initiatives to drive local growth for BSI.
  • Plan, develop, establish and maintain a database of competitor information to keep the business informed of competitor activity.
  • Plan, develop, establish and maintain a database of top clients and develop and maintain a customer-care programme for key accounts.
  • Maintain and grow existing business within a defined geographic territory.
  • Achieve personal targets for the assigned territory.
  • Maintain personal Salesforce and Point Global records.
  • Manage diary and appointments.
  • Expand the existing customer base.
  • Support marketing campaigns under the direction of the Marketing Executive and the General Manager, System Certification.
  • Develop programmes to protect the customer base from competitive activity.
  • Develop joint-selling and revenue development opportunities with designated BDEs.
  • Manage assigned customer satisfaction issues.
  • Address potential customer attrition with the appropriate stakeholders.
  • Identify, pursue and close BSI in-house training and certification opportunities.
  • New business development in agreement with the Head of Sales, South Europe and META: a) target new accounts where BSI has little or no prior interaction and convert them to clients that value premium auditing and training across multiple topics; b) ensure all territorial opportunities for in-house training and certification are identified and developed; c) identify clients’ training needs and provide appropriate solutions; d) identify and secure non-user accounts with potential.
  • Meet agreed standards with line management for face-to-face client contact time.
  • Produce and submit all weekly and monthly reports, expense claims, etc., within agreed timescales.
  • Follow documented procedures for preparing and presenting quotations.
  • Ensure account documentation is maintained with the required information.
  • Contribute positively to the department’s performance development.
  • Adhere strictly to BSI Group Ethics, Impartiality and Information Security policies.

Requirements

  • Native French speaker with a strong command of English.
  • 7–15 years of sales experience.
  • Broad commercial experience and strong business acumen.
  • Proven track record of C-suite engagement and sales.
  • Solid account management experience.
  • Ability to self-manage while working within a geographically dispersed, multifunctional and multicultural team.
  • Experience in the TIC industry, Information Security, Consulting or Management System Certification is preferable.
  • Training sales experience is a plus.
  • University degree or equivalent education.
